—Aparición is a piece that invites you to play and enjoy the creative experience through its mixed disciplines and their relation to the nature of a blank piece of paper (“tabula rasa”).
—Aparición is an organic and lively play that transcends different languages and applications - a work of sound, audiovisual, and scenic installation- offering space for experimentation on stage that spectators can fill with meaning.
Since the beginning of their creative process, the members of Colectivo Tres Intentos worked and lived together for approximately three months at the Flor de Agua residence in Puerto Montt where the play premiere was in January 2022. It is here that they experiment with paper as the primary material of the play and with the concept of folding - both connected to their observations of, and bonds with, the Chilean Lake District.
By Colectivo Tres Intentos and Francisco Marín, guest artist
A play about an encounter with a "Being" that depicts the possibilities that paper offers as a raw material.
Through the interplay of dance-performance, installation, and sound art, the play Aparición portrays the experience of a "Being" that folds and unfolds multiple universes, unveiling imaginings and identities from the south of Chile via a blank page.
This "Being" is related to an archetype, an idea, a primitive form of existence. The Being, with its power folded into itself, like a blank page, it is ready to manifest itself towards its infinite potential.
Three artists living in the Chilean Lake District came together to create an organic and playful piece which transcends languages and applications. Their stage experimentation allows the viewer to fill-in the spaces provided with meaning.
