Tryo Teatro Banda is dedicated to working on Chilean themes, combining the arts of acting, literature and live music. In 2005, with the premiere of Cautiverio felis (sic), they opened a line aimed at rescuing the art of the ancient minstrels to tell the mestizo history of Chile. Thus they created Pedro de Valdivia: la gesta inconclusa, Jemmy Button, Kay Kay and Xeng Xeng Vilu, La Araucana, La Tirana, Afrochileno, La expulsión de los Jesuitas and ¡Parlamento! with which they have toured Latin America, the United States, Spain and the United Kingdom.

Tryo Teatro Banda arrives at Platea 25 of the Festival Teatro a Mil 2025 with two theater shows: Fuenteovejuna and Tragicomedia del Ande; an experience to look at the classical theater of the Spanish Golden Age in front of a Latin American tragedy. The Pitch of this Chilean company, which will celebrate a quarter of a century in 2025, ends with a Minstrelsy Workshop for scenic artists.

The national company Tryo Teatro Banda celebrates 25 years of experience and they are doing it at PLATEA with the presentation of two new musical theatre shows: “Fuenteovejuna” and “Tragicomedia del Ande”. An opportunity to look at the classic theatre of Lope de Vega from the Spanish Golden Age and then delve into the fall of the Inca king Atahualpa at the hands of the conquistadors Pizarro and Almagro in America during the same period.

The pitch of one of the most outstanding theatre groups of recent years in Chile ends with a Minstrel Workshop for performing artists directed by Francisco Sánchez, who will combine different theater techniques through games and creative exercises.

Fuenteovejuna

Duration: 90 minutes

Musical theatre version of the classic by Lope de Vega, from the Spanish Golden Age, which emphasizes the fight against the abuse of women, and the right of people to rebel when the authorities tyrannize. 6 performers on stage and a string quintet make up the cast on stage.

Tragicomedy of the Andes

Duration: 80 minutes

Musical theatre show that tells the story of the fall of the Inca king Atahualpa at the hands of the Spanish conquistadors Pizarro and Almagro, in that fateful encounter in Cajamarca, Peru, in 1533, and how greed ended the lives of those who were initially friends and partners in the conquest. 7 minstrels on stage accompanied by a chamber orchestra of 10 musicians bring this vibrant show to life.

Minstrel Workshop

Taught by Francisco Sánchez, director of Tryo Teatro Banda, for performing arts artists (theater, music and dance) whose aim is to explore the minstrel that each one carries within, combining different theatrical and expressive techniques through games and creative exercises.
