Catalina Cerda is a Chilean actress, director, playwright and screenwriter, noted for having won the XIX Muestra Nacional de Dramaturgia with Un caso aislado. She is co-founder of Arte Un Rato, production company responsible for the theatrical productions Un caso aislado (2023) and Es un incendio (2024), as well as the short film Homenaje (2021), which has been selected at international festivals such as SANFIC, the St. Louis International Film Festival and the Prague International Indie Film Festival.

A mother turns a parent-teacher meeting into a dangerous argument after her daughter confesses to having been responsible for the death of the school dog.
“Un caso aislado” is a work based on the experiences of abuse and bullying that the playwright herself experienced during her childhood and pre-adolescence. The exercise of writing the text represents an instance of reparation in terms of the traumatic experiences lived and, at the same time, a possibility of a sense of belonging for any victim who comes across the work.
