El silencio
By El Silencio Company | Text and direction by Romina Paula
After ten years, the Argentine company El Silencio gets back together again to present “Sombras, por supuesto”, a piece that arrives at the Teatro a Mil International Festival 2025 and introduces us to the spectral universe of the German filmmaker Rainer Werner Fassbinder.
A film director and an actress go to the coast to investigate the myth of Fauna, an Amazon of sorts, a cultured and wild woman, to make a film about her.
There, her children María Luisa and Santos will be in charge of bringing their mother closer to them so they can complete their project. Then, the 4 characters rehearse scenes for the film and discuss what would be representable about the truth of the stories, and how important or not that truth is.
The characters begin to peel off, as if this exposure to fiction, instead of protecting them, exposed them.
